About S.S. Seward Institute
About S.S. Seward Institute
S.S. Seward Institute is a 6–12 grade school located in the historic Black Dirt region of Orange County, New York. Nestled on Main Street in the Village of Florida, S.S. Seward stands at the heart of the community it serves. Guided by our mission, we work hand in hand with families and community partners to equip every student with the skills to thrive as future-ready, independent, critical thinkers, lifelong learners, and responsible citizens, while upholding a commitment to academic excellence.
With just under 400 students, our size is one of our greatest strengths. Every student is known, cared for, and supported as an individual. We provide a learning environment where personal connections and high expectations go hand in hand.
Our students have access to a wide range of opportunities, from an array of extracurricular activities and athletics to future-focused programs in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Dual-enrollment college courses offer the chance to graduate with significant college credit already earned. We are home to more than 30 student clubs and organizations, along with over 30 athletic teams at the modified, junior varsity, and varsity levels. Our teams consistently earn Section IX titles, compete in regional championships, and make appearances at the state level.
Proud of our community, history, staff, and students, we consider it an honor to serve the next generation of scholars, leaders, service members, and contributors to the workforce of tomorrow.
